If it doesn’t drain well, you’ve most likely found the source of the clog.
You may wonder why this happened. There could be several explanations, but one of the most common causes of this sort of problem is trees. The roots of trees interfere with sewer lines and cause a blockage. Alternatively, it could be that your exterior pipes have collapsed, though this is rarer.
